TRIO CHITARRISTICO RAVEL
Trio Chitarristico Ravel started from the desire three guitar
players had to work together. The three of them have all studied
in the prestigious context of Rome’s prestigious Arts Academy.
The Trio gives frequent concerts all along Italy and other countries,
warmly welcomed by different audiences. Apart from performing,
the three members – Andrea Pace, Cristiano Poli Cappelli and
Matteo de Rossi – also carry out a constant and renowned didactic
activity.
The three members of the Trio have had different formative background,
but they find a common ground in the love for Twentieth Century
music. The Trio’s will is that of divulging the original repertoire
for this ensemble, though they do not disdain including into
their setlists new transcriptions, which sound renewed as a
three-guitar performance.
Their engagement in re-discovering and giving new life to Twentieth
Century repertoire eventually brought to the recording of a
CD which is dedicated to important Italian composer Franco Margola.
In this CD the Trio has played Margola’s complete works for
three guitars, including the first ever recording of Sonata
II, and Fantasia – Omaggio a Franco Margola, written by composer
Michele Sganga and dedicated to the Trio.
